The Lo Shu Square is also known as the Magic square.

This Magic square forms the basis of many compass formulas used in Feng Shui and is part of the advanced branches of Feng Shui practices.

The numbers in the grid follow a certain pattern and each number has a set compass direction allocated to it.

This grid comprises of 9 squares and each square is assigned a number from 1 to 9.

The reason this Lo Shu Square is called a magic square is because the sum of the three numbers in each direction, either horizontally, diagonally or vertically, comes to a total of 15.

It is also the number of days a new moon takes to become a full moon.

The Lo Shu grid corresponds to the different directions of the Pa Kua Symbol.

The numbers and symbols of both, the Pa Kua and Lo Shu grid, follow a set pattern.

It is believed that the Lo Shu Square was first discovered on the back of a turtle, around 4000 years ago, in the Lo river.

These numbers greatly influenced the Feng Shui symbolism and formulas and became the foundation of a lot of Taoist practises.

Whatever the origin of this magical square, one thing is certain that it is a very complex formula and its origin dates back to thousands of years.

And that it still works in the present day scenario.

As I have mentioned in my earlier posts, these numbers have their own Elements, energies and directions.

And based on this information we apply our Feng Shui remedies to fix problems and improve our lives.
