The Hungry Ghost Month started on the 29th of July and ends on the 26th of August 2022.
The name of this month is quite graphic and it is done so intentionally.
In the Chinese tradition this month is considered a month in which the spirits return to earth to visit their descendants or just roam around.
It is a good month to honour your descendants/ancestors and offer them incense. You can leave food offerings for them as well.
There are some things that you should avoid during the Hungry Ghost Month:
- Staying out late at night
- Making major decisions
- Starting a new job
- Starting a new business
- Wearing red or black colour
- Leave your washing out
- Going swimming
- Tapping on the shoulders
- Taking part in dangerous sports
I would urge all of you to take extra care this month and amp up your prayers to stay protected and safe.
I like to keep my near and dear ones in my prayers all the time and I also send a positive message for everyone while praying ?.
It is a good idea to keep your loved ones in your prayers, especially this month.
