How to find the orientation of your house?

Good morning everyone!

When you start using Feng shui you need some basic information about your house (or space) to make use of the Feng Shui principles and tips.

The first step is to find out the orientation of your home, office or business.

In order to work out the direction/orientation of your house you will need a reliable compass.

Open your front door and stand there with the compass.

Take directions and write them down.

Next, take a few steps outside your front door and take directions.

Write them down.

Then go back a few steps inside the main door and take directions again.

Write these down too.

We will do some basic mathematics here.

Now that you have three sets of directions, add them up.

Let’s take an example.

You live in a house and don’t know the direction it faces.

You will start by taking directions.

Take the first direction at the door: 178 degrees

The second direction: 176 degrees

And the third direction: 181 degrees

Now, add these three directions: 176 + 178 + 181 = 535 degrees

Now divide the total by 3.

535 divided by 3 = 178.33

So, you know that your house faces 178 degrees,

This makes the house and a South facing house.

With this information you can work out the rest of the directions of your house or building.

Once you know all the directions, you can start applying all the Feng Shui tips one by one.
