Hope all of you are well.

I have been away to India for a couple of weeks, spending time with my beautiful parents.

As Mum and Dad get older, I realise the importance of having them in my life even more and cherish every moment I spend with them.

While in India, I had time to reflect on our time growing up in our house.

It is interesting how I can see how life unraveled for all of us and how, now I feel, I could have improved a lot of things, had I or someone else in the family known Feng Shui then.

I know a lot of people will say that ‘They are what they are today’ because of the experiences they have been through life, and that they wouldn’t change it for anything.

I do agree that our experiences make us what we are today, but I also believe that we as humans have the capability to change our lives around.

We do not have to suffer just because we think this is what destiny has in store for us.

And luckily, there are so many tools available to us to do so.

Feng Shui is one of those tools which can be used very effectively to improve the quality of one’s life.

So, today I am going to have a look at how we can use Feng Shui to ensure that we continue to experience good health and happiness in our life.

And, please remember to use these tips along with healthy eating habits and regular exercise.

As you all know by now, Feng Shui is all about energy (of a space and things).

As we age, we need to make sure that we keep energising our personal space.

Make it a habit of changing the decor of your house after a few years.

Every time you buy a new piece of furniture (and get rid of an old furniture), you add a dose of yang energy in your space.

Over time, the old, stale energy of the furniture and items displayed in the house start affecting the health of the residents.

Keep revitalising the energy in your home by moving things around and replacing them with fresh, new energy.

If you do not want to buy new things then make sure you re-paint or oil the furniture so that they get a new lease of life.

Paint the walls and the out facade of the house regularly too.

You have to remember that like edible products, every thing has a use-by-date.

If you haven’t used those items by a certain time, they will not perform optimally.

And how can you tell if an item has reached its use-by-date?

It is very simple.

When they start looking tired, broken, chipped, dirty and faded, it is time to get rid of them.

Make sure you keep this in mind and have a good look around your house.

Change and move things around regularly.

If you don’t use something, give it to someone who will.

If you don’t fit into certain clothes, give it to charity or a needy person.

If you have too much stuff in your home, try and reduce it by selling it or donating it.

The idea is to have a home that breathes easily. The energy of the house should be vibrant and alive.

When your home breathes easy, you will breathe easy.

Your health and well-being is directly related to the space where you live.

If you are suffering from ill-health, look around and see what you can do to improve your personal space.

Get rid of all the extra stuff and clutter lying around in your bedroom and other rooms too.

Check to see if there are any physical afflictions affecting the health of the person sleeping on that bed.

Check the sleeping direction of the person who is ill.

If they are sleeping with their head towards one of their bad directions, then that should be remedied straightaway.

If they are sleeping in the right direction, then check for the yearly afflictions to see if they are being afflicted by a negative Flying Star.

This year the Illness star is in the Northeast direction.

If you have elderly people, young children and pregnant women living in a Northeast room, then you will be better off moving them into another room.

Another thing to be aware of is that the bed should not be placed on the Northeast wall of any other bedroom either.

Your chance of falling sick becomes higher.

If you cannot move your bedroom, try and move your bed around.

If that is also not possible due to space constraints, you can move your pillow and place it such that you are sleeping with your head towards one of your four good directions.

Feng Shui can be used very effectively to improve your health and happiness.

You just have to keep an open mind and be flexible when applying it.

And when you apply Feng Shui, you see an improvement in your situation almost instantly.

It is not a coincidence, it is actually Feng Shui at work.
