Let’s have a look at a Feng Shui tool that forms the basis of Feng Shui.
Pa Kua is a tool used to work out the various remedies related to each direction. It has eight sides, representing the eight compass directions.
On its own the Pa Kua holds protective energies too and is used by a lot of people to ward off negative energies coming towards their home. This is achieved by hanging a Pa Kua outside the house.
A word of caution here. Never place a Pa Kua inside your home.

There are two types of Pa Kuas: The Early Heaven Pa Kua and the Later Heaven Pa Kua.
The Early Heaven Pa Kua is the one that is used to dispel negative energies outside the house. It is also used in the practice of Yin Feng Shui or the Feng Shui of graves.
The Later Heaven Pa Kua is used for Yang houses, that is, the houses of the living. Each side of the Pa Kua is associated with a compass direction.
In the Pa Kua, South is always placed at the top. Each direction has a number associated with it. These numbers are from 1 to 9, with 5 in the center.
Each direction has an element assigned to it out of the five elements: Wood, Water, Metal, Earth and Fire. These directions stand for different family members too.
Each direction is given a symbol, called a Trigram, which is made up of three line combinations. These lines can have different configurations. Some of them can be all broken or all solid, or two broken and one solid line etc.
Here is a table showing different properties associated with the different directions of the Pa Kua.

The Pa Kua can be used to analyse the luck a person will have in their house.
I will go deeper into the use of the Pa Kua in my next post and share tips on how to create abundance in your life very easily.
Hope you have a lovely weekend.
Cheerio.
