Let’s have a look at the shapes of houses, blocks of land as well as the contours of the land today.
In Feng Shui, this would be one of the most basic and most important factor to take into account.
The shape of the land as well as the house should be regular.
What do I mean by regular?
This term is a little bit different from the mathematical term regular.
A regular shape in mathematics is one which has equal angles and sides. Whereas here when we say a regular shape it means that the opposite sides of the land or house should be of equal length, as found in a rectangle and a square.
Irregular shaped houses or blocks of land are not considered lucky or auspicious in Feng Shui.
Some examples of irregular shaped land or house would include a triangle shape, pentagon shape, L-shaped, U or H shaped land or house.
So, what happens when you live in a house or block of land which is of irregular shape?
Lots of things can go wrong when you build and live on an irregular shaped land.
It is not possible to cover each and every problem that might occur but here are some examples that will give you an idea about it.
- Loss of money
- Hard to conceive children
- Loneliness
- Lack of support
- Hard to succeed etc.
Just as the shape of the house and land has an impact on the luck of a person similarly, the contours of the land have a great effect on their luck as well.
Some features that need to be taken care of (avoided) when choosing a piece of land include:
- Land sloping downwards at the back of the house
- Higher land at the right side of the house (inside looking out)
- Higher land at the front of the house etc.
As I have mentioned earlier, it is not possible to cover all the different variations of land/house shapes as well as the contours of land but if you feel that your life is not going smoothly or before you decide on a piece of land or house, get a Feng Shui expert in to get your home or land checked out. They will be able to pick out features that could be creating problems in your life and suggest Feng Shui remedies to alleviate the problem.
Generally speaking, there are a combination of things that usually create a problem and one thing is for sure, the longer you leave these problems without fixing or changing them, the harder it gets to fix it later.
So, if you are looking at building or buying a home, office or business premises, keep these Feng Shui tips in mind:
- Try and buy a land or house which has a regular shape, either a rectangle or a square.
- Avoid missing corners in a house or land.
- Don’t have lower land at the back of your house or building
- Avoid higher ground in front of the house
- Generally speaking, the left side of the house should be higher than the right hand side (inside looking out)
There are a lot of other things that come into play too when you move into a house which is best handled by someone who has a good understanding of Feng Shui.
The energy of the people living in the house has an interaction with the energy of the house and knowing how to maximise this energy to benefit each member of the family is the key to great Feng Shui.
Feng Shui is always working towards improving the energy of a space to bring balance and harmony to the people living there.
When this balance is achieved by using the age old principles of Feng Shui, it brings happiness, love, wealth, good health and so much more to the people living in that space.
And the good thing about Feng Shui is that you can start applying little bits and pieces yourself to see if it actually works.
My personal recommendation would be to not waste precious time and start using Feng Shui now.
