I think you all know by now that when we talk about family happiness and marriage luck, we are usually talking about the Southwest part of a house.

The Southwest corner or part of you home is where most of the answers to relationships lie.

Southwest is also the direction of the Matriarch or mother of the family.

If the Southwest of your home has a garage, store room, bathroom, toilet or a laundry, then it creates negative energy and will effect the luck of the residents.

When you improve the Feng Shui of Southwest, you create a state of harmony in your family, with less rivalries or conflicts, and more harmony and happiness.

There is another important area of a house that has a direct impact on the happiness of a family, and it is the centre of a home. The centre of a home effects the relationship luck of a family. When you take care of it, you make sure that your family stays close, connected and happy.

Now, let’s have a look at ways to improve the Feng Shui of your home, in order to improve the overall luck of your family.

First of all, make sure you do not have a bathroom, toilet, laundry or garage in the Southwest.
If you do, then make sure you keep it clean and tidy.
Keep the doors to these rooms closed at all times, (as this will help keep the negative energy inside that room and not spread outside)
You can cover the bathroom/toilet/laundry etc. door with a curtain to symbolically make it disappear.
You can place a 5 rod, all metal wind chime in these rooms too.
You can avoid using these rooms totally, if possible.
If you have the budget, then try and move the toilet/bathroom from the Southwest corner/direction.
Always try and keep the bathrooms, toilets, and laundries small and simple.
You can energise the centre of your home by using Earth energy. A very good way of energising the earth element is by having a crystal chandelier, or crystal balls or geode here.
Try and place the family room or the dining room in this part of your home and spend time here by sitting together for a chat, watch television or play games together.
Hang a happy family photo here and in the Southwest. A family photo should be that of the immediate family only.
Keep these areas well lit and you can play music here too (You will need to keep the monthly and yearly Flying Star afflictions in mind when doing so. You can get all the updates when you purchase my Yearly Feng Shui Updates for each year).
Avoid having a bathroom, toilet or kitchen in the centre.
Toilets in the centre of a house create a lot of negative energy for the residents of the house. It drains away the luck as well as wealth of the family.
Do not have stairs in the centre either, especially spiral staircases, as they tend to create the energy of tragedy in a home.
If you do have one in your home, then try and move them to the side, at the first chance you get.
If you cannot move the spiral staircase, then make sure there are no gaps in between the steps.
Avoid placing a red carpet on the staircases too, especially on the ones located in the centre of the house. This can lead to a lot of heartache and unhappiness.
  • When you energise the Southwest and centre of your home, you create the luck of family togetherness and happiness. Creating yang energy in these areas further activates the good luck of a family.
  • Have a look at your house plan and work out the various directions. Once you know directions where all the rooms are, you can then see if your Southwest or centre is afflicted by the presence of a toilet, bathroom, laundry or kitchen.
  • Now that you have this information you can go ahead and fix it by using the tips mentioned above.
  • Once you have applied the tips, you should be able to see an improvement in your relationships as well as in the overall luck of the family.
  • Do remember that Feng Shui can improve your life immensely, but it will only work if you apply the tips and suggestions. If you keep thinking about it and do nothing, it will obviously not help.
  • Another thing to remember is that Feng Shui has a lot of layers and if the problem persists then chances are there are other things at play which need to be fixed, to really improve the situation.
  • So, if you are new to Feng Shui and still sitting on the fence, not sure if it actually works, then this is a great starting point for you. All the tips that I share with you are simple and easy to apply. Pick one every day, or every week, and apply it, the choice is totally yours. You can thank me later 😉
