I talked to you about the importance of the front door. A good front door helps in bringing good luck, good health, wealth and happiness to the residents of the house. So do take extra care and keep your front door area clean all the time.
There are a few afflictions that one has to be aware of, when trying to create a good front door. These afflictions can bring bad luck and loss of wealth or ill health to the residents, if not taken care of. These afflictions include pointed roof tops, corners of pillars, spiky plants or a road pointing straight towards the main door.
Have a look around your main door. What do you see? Is there anything harming or sending negative energy towards the main door? If you have any of the above mentioned afflictions then you need to take relevant steps to fix the problem.

The best part about knowing Feng Shui is that it gives you a few different options to deal with any problem/issue.
We don’t have to knock down walls, or rebuild our house again. Feng Shui gives us different options to work with, and these options usually help fix the problem. In some extreme cases we might have to put more effort/money into it, but the effectiveness of the results always astounds me.
Let’s see how we can fix some of the common afflictions that could be harming the main door.
Corner of a pillar or corner of a neighbour’s house:
- Try and cover the corner of the pillar by placing a plant in front of it or you could grow a climbing plant on the pillar.
- For the corner of a house, you can grow a hedge or plant a tree to block the corner.
- You can also place a wind chime near the front door to deflect the negative energy.
- Another way of dealing with this problem is to place a mirror above the main door or somewhere, where it will capture the image of the corner and that will deflect the energy away from your house.
Straight road facing the main door:
- If there is a road right in front of your main door then you can either try and move the door out of the straight line, either to the left or right of the existing doorway.
- You can try and have a screen, a wall or a hedge between the door and road. The main idea is to slow down the fast moving energy and turn it into positive energy rather from fast moving, negative energy. This way the energy entering the house will not harm the residents and will bring good luck as it meanders towards the main door.
- Another way to fix this problem is to hang a metal wind chime outside the front door. Just make sure that the wind chime is placed on one side so that you do not stand under it or walk under it every time you step out the door.
Yearly flying star afflictions:
- Every year certain directions are afflicted by some negative stars. These stars bring different kinds of bad luck energy with them, like court cases, quarrels, bankruptcy etc. The good news is that they can be remedied. These stars become more powerful when they are at the front door of a house. Make sure you apply the relevant cures each year to stay safe and enjoy the benefits of the good stars as well.
- If you haven’t applied the yearly cures already, then you need to do it as soon as possible. Feng Shui cures start working and protecting you, as soon as you apply the remedies.
