Hey there!

Do you like colour in your wardrobe and your space?

I love colour around me.

That doesn’t mean I have bright and bold colours everywhere.

I use splashes of colour around the home to brighten the space up.

But, you might like to have more colour in your home like a red or purple feature wall or curtains.

It is all very personal and subjective.

Colours have different meanings for people from different cultures.

The perception of colour can be subjective too, based on your experience or culture.

Egyptians and Chinese cultures practised Chromotherapy or the use of colours to heal people (www.verywellmind.com)

We do know that colours can have an effect on one’s mood and behaviour too.

There is still much research to be done in the field of colour psychology but Feng Shui has used colour very effectively for centuries.

Let’s have a look at how we can use colour to improve the energy of our space and improve our luck while using colour.

Red:

Red is used extensively in homes and businesses, especially during the beginning of the Chinese New Year, to usher in good luck.

It is better to use splashes of red rather than having too much red in a room.

Red represents fire element in Feng Shui and it is a very strong colour and should be used with caution.

You can use red in the South, Southwest and Northeast of your room.

Black and Blue:

Black/Blue represents water in Feng Shui.

Black/Blue colour should not be used for ceilings or roofs.

Black colour suggests danger and having too much black can create bad luck for you very quickly.

Avoid having too much black in your home or office/business, especially on walls, ceilings and carpets.

Black and Blue colours can be used in the North, Southeast and East part of the house or building.

White:

White is a good colour to use in the house or business.

It is a Yang colour and represents prosperity.

White represents Metal element.

You can use shades of white for the walls and ceilings in your house and then add colour in the form of furnishings and decorative items.

White can be used everywhere in the house and especially in the West, Northwest and North part.

Yellow:

Yellow is an Earth colour.

It brings grounding energy with it.

You can use Yellow colour in Southwest, Northeast, Northwest and West part of your home.

Green:

Green is the considered as the colour of money.

It represents Wood element.

You can use plants to introduce green colour in your space or use it in the furnishings.

The best directions to use green are Southeast, East and South part of your home or business.

You can have fun playing wit different colours in your home or business.

Remember, you can use any colour anywhere in your space, as long as it is not too big or too much.

When you place the colours according to their directions, you create a balance in your space and it starts creating good luck for you by activating each corner and its associated aspirations.

Here is a quick recap of all the directions and their associated aspirations:

North – Career Luck

South – Popularity and fame

East – Health luck

West – Children and creativity luck

Northwest – Mentors and travel luck

Northeast – Education and personal development

Southwest – Relationship luck

Southeast – Money luck

So, now that you know about the properties of each colour and where it should be placed to benefit from it, you can start thinking about how you are going to add them in your space.

Get creative and use your personal style to incorporate different colours in your home or office.

You will feel and see an improvement in your luck once you have applied this tip.

Good luck.
