Hey!
I have a question for you today.
How often do you leave your washing out at night?

As our lives get more and more busy, and the time available stays the same, we try to find ways of fitting all that we need to do, as best we can.
I know a lot of people who wash their clothes in the evening and put them out to dry overnight so that the clothes start drying as soon as the sun comes out, and by the time they get back from work, the clothes would be dry.
It does make a lot of sense but the trouble is, Feng Shui doesn’t look at it kindly.
According to Feng Shui, you should not leave your clothes out in the dark.

If we look at the traditional Feng Shui view, it believed that there were wandering spirits and they would settle on the clothes at night, hence creating bad luck for its wearer.
If you look at it more deeply, you will find that the reason behind this notion has more to do with the quality of energy than any thing else.
Yes, we are talking about energy again 🙂
Remember, Feng Shui is all about energy!
When you leave your clothes out at night, the clothes tend to absorb a lot of ‘Yin’ (quiet, dark) energy and that energy is then transferred to the person wearing those clothes.
If you leave your clothes out all the time, there are chances that the person might suffer from low energy and a flat mood too.
Similarly, if you wash your clothes and put them in a cold, dark room to dry overnight, they too will absorb excessive amounts of yin energy.
Ideally, you should try and dry your clothes in the day, when the sun is out and their is a lot of ‘Yang’ energy.
Even on days when the sun is not out, there is enough yang energy to activate the clothes.
You would have noticed the difference in your mood on days when the sun is bright and shiny, as compared to days when it is dark and dreary outside.
It is the same with clothes. They absorb bright energy on bright days and bleak energy on bleak days.
So, you might have to look at ways you can try and use the morning ‘yang’ energy to dry the clothes, without exposing them to the ‘Yin’ energy of the night.
I am sure you can work out a way that works best for you.
Here is a suggestion that comes to mind.
You could load the washing machine at night and turn it on first thing in the morning, get the breakfast and lunches ready, and then put the washing out before you leave for work. Or get the children to do it as their daily chore.
Doing this will help improve the mood and energy of the people wearing these clothes.
These small and easy Feng Shui tips can actually turn things around drastically.
Have a look at your daily routine and see how you can start introducing Feng Shui in your life.
Over time, these small steps will create a beautiful and happy life for you and your family.
Have a relaxing weekend.
Much love.
