Good morning everyone.

I would like to wish all of you a very Happy Diwali ?.

Diwali, also known as Deepavali or the Festival of Lights, is one of the most celebrated festivals in India.

Diwali is a celebration of the victory of good over evil.

Sweets and gifts are exchanged over this festive period and there are lots of fireworks too.

India, like many other cultures, has a lot of different taboos.

When you grow up in a particular culture/country, you automatically accept a lot of these taboos without really thinking about them.

There is one such taboo that is still followed very religiously by shopkeepers all across India.

If you have bought something (from a shop) and you have to return or exchange it, most shops will not accept it till later in the day, mostly in the afternoon.

Usually, shops have displayed the return times for their shop.

Morning time is allocated for sales, not returns.

The reason behind this philosophy is that they don’t want to start their day by having to take money out of their till.

They want money coming in, not going out.

Makes sense, right?

If we look at it from the ‘Law of Attraction’ and ‘Positive thinking’ point of view, it makes a lot of sense.

You want to start your day on a positive note.

If you have to take out money from your till, you are starting your day from a negative.

I want you to keep this idea in your mind forever.

You should be working to start your day on a positive note.

How can you do that?

You can start by taking a few minutes each morning, while lying in your bed, and creating your perfect day.

Take a few minutes and think of how you want your day to go!

It could be something like this…

  • Every minute of my day is filled with success and happiness.
  • My commute to work is quick and smooth.
  • I get along well with all my co-workers.
  • Only good things come my way.
  • Miracles happen to me all the time and so on…

You can choose the phrases I have shared here or make your own, based on what you want to create.

Have you noticed that all these phrases are using positive language.

I haven’t written,

  • I don’t want to be stuck in the traffic
  • I can’t wait for this day to end
  • I don’t want to face so-and-so at work
  • My life is full of problems
  • I am so unlucky and so on…

When a shopkeeper asks you to come into his/her shop in the afternoon, they are saying to the energy/Universe that they are waiting for good things to come in first and once that trend is established, they are happy to serve those who need to return or exchange the product.

Similarly, you have to train yourself to create positive scenes in your mind.

Think of things that you want in your life, keeping the things that you don’t want in your life, at bay, especially first thing in the morning.

As humans we tend to worry about a lot of things.

And, most of the time we have learnt to worry because we ourselves or our loved ones have gone through rough/tough times and we have learnt from their experience as well from our our own experiences.

Learning from experience is great, isn’t it.

Normally it is, but not in this case.

You see, what we learn from our experiences is ‘to worry.’

And worrying doesn’t really help get rid of the problem, on the contrary, it can actually make the problem worse.

I also understand that it is really hard to not worry.

But, today I am asking you to try and push your worry to the back.

You can worry, a little bit ;), once you have started your day on a positive note.

Those few minutes when you wake up every morning and start worrying about all your problems, is when I am asking you to put your worries on hold.

Your work, your busy commute, your ill-tempered co-worker, you assignment, your deadlines, your credit card bills… they can all wait.

You can worry later on, in the afternoon, for a few minutes, and then let it go.

Can you do that?

Your morning ritual is very important.

And you will find it is also the hardest to get used to.

So, I want you take the first few minutes each morning for the next week, and focus on what you want in your life.

Each morning, before you get out of bed, take a few minutes and create.

Create. What. You. Want. In. Your. Life!

And then get up and start going about your usual morning routine.

As you get into the habit of doing this little step each morning, you will start shifting the energy inside as well outside you.

And as you continue doing this little morning ritual, you will start seeing amazing results in your life too.

A word of caution here…

A lot of times, we as human beings do things once or twice a week and say that we are very regular with it.

I know I have said that so many times too ;).

But, it is only when you do it most days of the week, over and over again, for days, weeks and months on end, that it really can be called a morning ritual.

And, once you start seeing the results, you will want to do it more and more.

You will be able to change your whole life and live a happy and fulfilling life.

Remember, leave your worries till the afternoon.

So what are you waiting for, get started now!

P.S. I made some Indian sweets to celebrate Diwali.

This is called Coconut Burfi. It is made from condensed milk, desiccated coconut, ghee and cardamom. Happy to say everybody loved it ?

And this is Kaju Katli or Kaju Burfi. Kaju is Cashewnut. So, this is basically a Cashew nut slice ?.

Much love.

Have a wonderful weekend.
