I talk about elements all the time so I thought of going back to the basics of Feng Shui for all those who don’t have an idea as to what these elements are ?.
In Feng Shui, as well as in Chinese culture, everything can be divided into five elements.
These five elements are:
1. Wood
2. Water
3. Metal
4. Earth
5. Fire
These five elements are used over and over in Feng Shui to improve every life situation, whether good or bad.
So, let’s take an example…
Let’s say that a person is suffering from ill health ever since he/she moved into their new home.
The first thing I would recommend to them would be move out of the room for a while.
If they cannot move rooms, then they should place Metal element next to them.
They can place a Wu Lou, which is made of Metal element, next to their bed or they can hang a six rod, all metal wind chime near their bed too.
These traditional Feng Shui remedies not only make use of the Elements, they also use the symbols of good health.
Similarly, we control the negative effects of the Five Yellow Star by using Metal element.
If you are looking at improving your money luck then you can use Water element to enhance your wealth. Placing a Water Feature in the Southeast is one of the easy ways of improving money luck.
All the five elements can be used either for enhancing or controlling the effects of different stars.
These five elements have a special relationship with each other as well.
They can produce, exhaust and destroy other elements when they follow different cycles.
These elements can be expressed in colours as well.
You can use either the element or the colour in areas where they are needed.
Have a look at the table below. I have explained all the colours and items that you can use to activate the different elements.
You can use this table as a guide when you are applying Feng Shui in your home or office.
The application of Feng Shui can be a lot of fun.
I feel that Feng Shui can be used very creatively and it not only helps improve the energy of the space but helps make it aesthetically pleasing as well.
Now that you have the list of all the elements and the colours, go ahead and have fun applying them in your personal space.
Activating different sectors of the home or office can bring about a great improvement in your luck and well being.
