Hey there!
Hope you are having a good day.
I just finished my morning walk, had a cup of coffee and now I am ready to get writing 🙂
Today, I will talk to you about some Feng Shui taboos regarding bathrooms and toilets that you should keep in mind when buying or renting a house.
Let’s have a look at this house plan.
(This plan is from a local real estate agency in Canberra)
Oh, and before you start you might want to keep a copy of your own house plan to understand it, especially if you are at the stages of finalising the floor plan or are looking at buying or renting a house or apartment.

This house has two levels. As you can see, I have marked ‘Ground floor’ and ‘First floor’ on the plans.

Have a close look at the plan and work out where all the rooms in the house are.
Once you have gone through all the ground floor rooms, move on to the first floor rooms.
Go through them in a similar fashion.
Now have a look at both the floors and see what is above each room.
You can do the same with your own house plans.
When we apply Feng Shui in our space the first thing we work on is to ensure the safety of the residents.
And in doing so we look at certain key factors in each building.
There are some areas/rooms in the house that need to be protected more than others.
We do so by making sure that they are not being negatively impacted by the negative energy of bathrooms and toilets.
These rooms are:
- The entrance/main door area
- The Dining room
- The Kitchen,
- And above the bedroom
So, let’s start at the entrance of this house.
Have a look at the house plan.
Check the area around and above the main door.
Is there a bathroom visible as soon as you open the main door?
What is above the main door?
In this case there is a bathroom above the main door.
And what is above the kitchen?
In this plan there is another bathroom above the kitchen.
When there is a bathroom/toilet above a Kitchen or Dining area then it tends to negatively afflict the financial situation, health as well as the wellbeing of the people living in that house.
If you came to me with a similar house plan, I would definitely suggest looking at more houses.
If you haven’t already bought or rented a house, you still have the flexibility to chose a house which doesn’t have a bathroom/toilet/en-suite right above the main door, kitchen, dining room or bedroom.
But, what if you have already bought this house?
In that case I would suggest some Feng Shui remedies which would help alleviate the situation.
- Avoid placing the dining table under the toilet.
- Avoid placing the bed under the toilet
- Shine a bright light upwards, towards the ceiling where the toilet/bathroom is. This will help lift the negative energy away from the room downstairs.
- If possible, try and avoid using the toilet or bathroom that is above these rooms.
- Try and change your main door to another side, if possible, or use another door as your main door.
- If possible, move your dining room to another room.
- If possible, renovate your house and move the important rooms away from under the bathroom/toilet.
If you have been living in a house which has this kind of affliction then chances are that you are already feeling the negative impact on your health, finances, success and wellbeing.
Thankfully, you can change the trajectory of your luck very quickly by applying these Feng Shui tips.
And, once you are back on your feet, feeling stronger and seeing the improvement in your life, you can think of either moving to another house or renovating this house.
