Good morning beautiful people!
In the last post I talked about the direction of each Chinese animal sign and the importance of keeping your animal sign direction free from any affliction.
An affliction in Feng Shui would include having a bathroom, toilet, store room, garage or clutter in that direction.
The reason why these rooms are considered afflicted is because the energy of these rooms is considered negative and they create a negative effect wherever they are placed.
I am sure your next question will be, “Where do we put a bathroom or a toilet?”
And the answer to this question is that you should try and keep these rooms small. When they are small they do not cover as much area and they do not impact the luck as much.
Ok, moving on…
So, what if you are already living in a house and you have just learnt about Feng Shui and found out that your animal sign direction has a toilet or a bathroom there?
Well, there is no need to panic.
Feng Shui offers a wide variety of options to help fix this problem (and any other problem that you might be facing).
Let’s see what you can do to improve the situation.
I will talk about each animal sign and it’s respective direction, and give its remedy with it.
Rat:
- The compass direction of Rat is North.
- If North direction of your home is afflicted in any form then placing a plant inside the room will help remedy it.
- You can try and avoid using this toilet or bathroom but if you do not have a choice then placing the plant will help improve the situation.
- Make sure you enhance the North part of the other rooms in the house.
- You can place metal and water elements in the north corner of other rooms.
- Do remember that we do not place water in the bedrooms.
- A good example of metal element is a 6 rod all metal wind chime.
Ox:
- The compass direction of Ox born people is Northeast 1.
- This means the first 15 degrees of NE.
- If there is an afflicted room in the NE, it can be remedied by placing some metal element there. You can use a 5 rod wind chime here.
- Enhance the NE direction in other rooms with Fire and Earth element.
Tiger:
- The compass direction of Tiger borns is Northeast 3.
- The affliction of the Northeast can be remedied by placing metal element here. The five rod metal wind chime is a good cure.
- Make sure you enhance the NE part of other rooms with Fire and Earth element.
Rabbit:
- The direction of the rabbit is East 2.
- Any affliction in this direction can be fixed by placing fire element in the afflicted room.
- Enhance the East corner of the other rooms with water or wood Element.
Dragon:
- The home direction of Dragons is Southeast 1.
- Afflictions here can be fixed by introducing fire element.
- You can use a bright light or the colour red here.
- Do enhance the SE part of the other rooms by placing wood and water element.
Snake:
- The direction of snakes is Southeast 3.
- If there is a bathroom/toilet or garage in this part of your home then you can remedy it by placing fire element here.
- Enhance the SE corners of other rooms by using wood and water element.
Horse:
- The horse borns belong to South direction.
- If this part of your house has a bathroom or any other room which creates negative energy then you need to fix it by using Earth element.
- You can place a ceramic vase or pot here.
- You should enhance this direction in other rooms by using fire and wood element here.
- Some examples are: plants, lamps, chandeliers etc.
Sheep:
- The direction of Monkey borns is Southwest 1.
- An affliction in this direction can be remedied by placing metal element here.
- An all metal, 5 rod wind chime is a good remedy.
- You can place anything made of metal here too.
- The other rooms should be enhanced by placing elements made of Earth and fire.
Monkey:
- All sheep born belong to Southwest 3 direction.
- An affliction here can be remedied by using metal element here.
- Enhance the SW of other rooms to strengthen the luck of sheep born people.
Rooster:
- The direction is West 2.
- To remedy an affliction in the West, you can use water element here.
- The other rooms should be strengthened to improve the luck of the Rooster born people. You can use Metal as well as earth element here.
Dog:
- The direction of all dog born people is Northwest 1.
- An affliction in this direction can be fixed by placing water element here.
- Use Earth and metal element in NW corner of other rooms to strengthen the luck of dog borns.
Boar/Pig:
- The direction is Northwest 3.
- Remedy for any affliction here is to use Water element.
- Strengthen this direction in other rooms by using Earth and metal element.
Once you have worked out your animal sign and the different directions in your home, you can then use the tips mentioned here and improve the luck of your animal sign and hence your own luck.

As it is, avoid having a bathroom or toilet in your animal sign direction as this brings bad luck to the person.
