If you are looking at buying a house or renting a house then you need to pay attention to the landscape around the house.

In the olden days, Feng Shui masters were consulted to find the right piece of land, as this alone could create wonderful Feng Shui for the residents of the house.

Things have changed a lot over the years but we can still apply the principles of Feng Shui when looking for a house.

One of the most important thing to remember is that the ground behind the house should be higher than the ground in front. This is considered as the basic tenet and best feature of Feng Shui. This principle, when applied, provides protection, support and long life to the residents of the house.

This higher ground was usually a mountain behind the house and people in earlier days used to go to great lengths to find the perfect location to build their house.

In the modern day, however, one would be lucky to find a house of their choice, let alone a house with a mountain at the back.

The landscape has also changed so much over the years. Cities have sprung up every where and you might have to move a mountain (pun intended ?) to find the right piece of land.

So, does it mean you have to move from where you are living?

The answer is “No”.

If you are happy and well settled in your home then there is no need to ‘Up and move’. You can apply the remedies I have suggested and continue living in your beloved home. But if you are looking at buying a house, then you can keep these principles in mind.

Feng Shui is a very versatile system. You can use the principles of Feng Shui and adapt it to work for you, no matter where you live. You can apply it to apartments, skyscrapers, town houses, free standing houses or anywhere else you live.

How?

It is very simple. You can actually create the landscape in your personal space by being creative. You can use symbolic Feng Shui and get amazing results.

So, if you are already living in a house and it doesn’t have a mountain at the back, you can create the mountain artificially.

Tips to improve the landscape of your house

  • By placing a heap of rocks or one big boulder behind your house
  • You could plant trees at the back
  • You could have a solid fence at the back
  • You could place a turtle, artificial one or a live one, at the back of the house
  • You could hang a painting of a mountain at the back of your house or
  • You could hang a painting with a turtle in it

The mountain behind the house suggests having support in your life. When you apply any one of the above remedies in your backyard, you create a support system for all the residents of the house. This will ensure that there is someone supporting you in all your endeavours through out your life.

Let’s have a look at your backyard now.

What do you see?

Is the ground going upwards? If it is, then it is automatically creating the mountain for you.

If it is lower at the back than the front then you definitely need to fix it by using the remedies I have suggested here. Once you have applied the remedies, you will see an improvement in your life.

Remember, Feng Shui doesn’t just fix one problem. It works on a few different levels at the same time, hence improving a few different aspects of your life.
